Moore gave up four runs in six innings Friday in a loss to the Twins. Moore’s big mistake was giving up a three-run double to opposing starter Ervin Santana after walking Jason Castro to load the bases with two outs in the fourth. It was one the Giants simply couldn’t recover from with the way their offense has struggled. Moore is now 2-7 with a 5.28 ERA.
Hoffman surrendered one run in 6 1/3 innings to beat the Cubs on Saturday. He notched eight strikeouts against one walk and all four of the hits he allowed were singles. He was unscored upon through six innings and gave up one run in the seventh before being relieved. Hoffman has a 2.33 ERA and has earned a win in all four of his starts. He has 34 strikeouts against just three walks in 27 innings of work.
