Red Sox vs. Indians Pick
Will the Cleveland Indians avoid a third straight loss at home to the Boston Red Sox when the two continue their series tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Boston is favored on the road today, as the Red Sox are getting odds of -180 to win. Cleveland is listed with odds of +155 at home, while the over/under total has been set at just 7 runs.

The pitching matchup tonight has Chris Sale (14-5, 2.62 ERA) on the mound for the Red Sox to face Trevor Bauer (12-8, 4.50) of the Tribe. Bauer has looked great as of late, allowing no runs over his last seven innings of work. He has allowed one run or less in five of his last six appearances on the mound. Bauer has 149 strikeouts this season with 48 walks and a 1.42 WHIP. Sale is coming off a 4-run outing against the Yankees in his last start. This season, Sale has put up an impressive 250 strikeouts with 32 walks and a 0.89 WHIP.
After Cleveland won the series opener on Monday, Boston has bounced back with 9-1 and 6-1 wins the last two nights. Boston is now 73-53 on the season and 33-31 on the road while Cleveland is 69-56 overall and 32-29 at home.
Wednesday’s game saw both starters pitch well and then the Red Sox broke the game open late. Corey Kluber allowed just two runs in 7.2 innings and had 12 strikeouts, but took his fourth loss of the year. Drew Pomeranz pitched 5.1 scoreless innings and had nine strikeouts to get his 13th win of the season. Eduardo Nunez had a pair of hits and drove in two runs to lead Boston at the plate while Mitch Moreland added his 15th home run of the season. Edwin Encarnacion drove in the lone Cleveland run with his 29th home run of the season.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Cleveland’s bats have went cold the last two nights and I don’t see how that will change against Sale. The Red Sox’ ace is coming off bad start, but he has bounced back with scoreless performances after his last two shaky outings. Bauer has been great lately, but faces a tough Boston lineup and will have to find a way to match Sale, which I don’t think he can do.
