PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing the Indians today. Cleveland is currently getting 65 percent of the wagers for this game on the road against the Angels.
KEY INJURIES
The Indians continue to be without Michael Brantley, who is on the injury report due to an ankle injury. He is on the DL after offseason surgery but is expected to return sometime in April. L.A. second baseman Ian Kinsler is on the 10-day DL due to a groin injury but could return next week.
BETTING STRATEGIES
After dropping the season opener at Oakland, 6-5, the Angels won the last three games in the series to start 2018 3-1. Los Angeles has scored 22 runs over four games while allowing 14. Mike Trout has driven in four runs so far with a home run to lead the team while Andrelton Simmons also has four RBI.
Cleveland dropped two of three games at Seattle this past weekend as the Indians have a tough start with a West Coast road trip. The Indians scored 11 runs in the three games while allowing 12, as all three games were decided by a single run. Edwin Encarnacion is leading the team thus far with a .333 average, two home runs and three RBI. Yonder Alonso has added four RBI.
The Indians have won 10 straight over Los Angeles, including all six meetings last year. Despite that, I like what I have seen from the Angels thus far. They are hitting the ball well and have had competitive pitching. Clevinger is a tough draw, but the Indians haven’t been hitting the ball like we would expecting. Starting out west is a tough draw for Cleveland I think the Tribe struggles tonight. I look for a lot of runs with the Angels having the edge.
