Marlins vs. Giants Prediction
The Giants’ horrific first half will come to a close today – can they upset the Marlins at 4:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are +105 money line underdogs to knock off the Marlins, who have odds of -125. With Jose Urena set to face Johnny Cueto in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

From Rotoworld: Urena held the Cardinals to two runs over five innings Tuesday for his seventh victory. Urena carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the fifth, when Paul DeJong hit a leadoff single and Greg Garcia followed with a two-run homer. Miami’s offense answered with five runs in the top of the sixth to steal the win in St. Louis. Urena struck out seven and yielded just three hits in all. He boasts a 3.43 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 55 strikeouts through 81 1/3 innings this season.
Cueto (ear) will start Sunday against the Marlins. Apparently he’s over the ear infection that sidelined him earlier this week. Matt Cain, who had been the scheduled starter for Sunday’s first-half finale, will be available out of the pen. It’s been a down year for Cueto but he’s pitched better of late, producing a strong 2.84 ERA over his last three starts. If the Giants decide to be sellers at the trade deadline, Cueto could be one of the first to go.
Bet Today’s Marlins vs. Giants Game
OUR PREDICTION: It’s tempting to take the Giants at plus odds with Cueto on the hill, but I simply don’t trust them. It wouldn’t shock me if they were blown out today with their players checked out for the All-Star Break already. They’ve had a horrible first half and while they should play better in the second, I’m betting they end things on a sour note today. The Giants are 1-4 in their last five games, are 2-9 in their last 11 home games versus a right-handed starter, and are 7-17 in their last 24 home games against the Marlins.
SUNDAY MLB PREDICTION: MIAMI MARLINS -125
