The pitching matchup today has Doug Fister (2-6, 5.56 ERA) on the mound for the Red Sox to face Carlos Carrasco (12-5, 3.76) of the Indians. Fister has struggled on the mound in recent outings, giving up eight runs over his last two starts. He has 38 strikeouts this year with 23 walks and a 1.65 WHIP. Carrasco has been solid in his last two starts, allowing just one run over 13 innings of work. He has 161 strikeouts this season with 39 walks and a 1.13 WHIP.

These two opened their series on Monday with Cleveland getting a 5-4 win at home. The Tribe have now won eight of their last 10 games. They now sit at 69-54 overall and 32-27 at home while the Red Sox are now 71-53 overall and 31-31 on the road.

Boston jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Monday, but that quickly disappeared when the Indians posted three runs in the second. The Sox would regain the lead with two runs in the fifth, but allowed a run in the eighth and ninth. Neither starters was too impressive, but the Cleveland bullpen pitched 4.2 innings of scoreless ball with just one hit allowed. Roberto Perez had a home run and drove in three runs to lead the Indians. Andrew Benintendi and Hanley Ramirez each drove in a pair of runs to lead the Red Sox.

Bet on Red Sox vs. Indians

Fister hasn’t been a pitcher Boston can really count on this season while Carrasco seems to have put his struggles in the past. The Indians are hitting the ball well right now and shouldn’t have a problem connecting on Fister. Boston has some injuries that will keep them from keeping pace at the plate with the Tribe tonight. Stick with Cleveland.
