From Rotoworld: Chavez allowed two earned runs, eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Tuesday. The 33-year-old right-hander has been rather dependable at home, and Tuesday was no exception. He is 3-4 with a 3.74 ERA across nine starts and one relief appearance at the Big A. That’s impressive compared to his ugly 2-6 record and 6.10 ERA in 10 road outings. The good news for Chavez is he will be back home Sunday against Rick Porcello and the Red Sox.
Clevinger allowed just one unearned run, three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Tuesday in San Francisco. Clevinger was sharp, throwing 61 of his 100 pitches for strikes. The unearned run was the result of a Brandon Guyer misplay on a line drive. The young right-hander hasn’t lost in six outings, posting quality starts in each of his past four appearances. He has a sparkling 2-0 record and 0.75 ERA over his past 24 innings.
