MLB Predictions: Will the Indians win 16th straight vs. Orioles? 9/8/17

Orioles vs. Indians Pick

Can the Cleveland Indians continue this amazing winning streak when they host the Baltimore Orioles tonight at 7:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Indians are favored at home, as Cleveland is getting odds of -155 to win, while the Orioles are listed with odds of +135 to prevail. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 9 runs. Cleveland has won three of four meetings with the Orioles this season.

Tonight’s pitching matchup features Wade Miley (8-11, 4.91 ERA) of the Orioles to face Mike Clevinger (8-5, 3.50) of the Indians. Miley has been respectable lately, allowing two runs or less in six of his last seven starts. He has 128 strikeouts with 81 walks and a 1.66 WHIP on the season. Clevinger has been on a nice run, pitching 12 straight scoreless innings. He has allowed just six total runs over his last five starts. Clevinger has recorded 114 strikeouts with 51 walks this season and a 1.28 WHIP.

The Indians are on an impressive 15-game winning streak following a sweep of the White Sox. Cleveland has won its last seven games by at least two runs and is now just 2.5 games behind the Astros in the AL race. The Indians are 84-56 overall and 36-29 at home. The Tribe are averaging 5.07 runs per game while allowing just 3.65 per contest. Cleveland is being led by Edwin Encarnacion, who has 33 home runs with 85 RBI. Jose Ramirez is adding 47 doubles, 25 home runs and 69 RBI. However, he is battling a wrist issue that has him questionable for this game.

The Orioles are coming off a series loss at home to the Yankees and are just 3-4 in their last seven. Baltimore is now 71-69 overall and 27-39 on the road. The Orioles are putting up 4.86 runs per game while allowing 5.09 per contest. Jonathan Schoop is leading the Orioles with 33 doubles, 31 home runs and 102 RBI. Manny Machado has added 29 doubles, 32 homers and 91 RBI.

Bet on Orioles vs. Indians

Eventually this win streak for Cleveland has to end, but I don’t think it will be tonight. It’s nice that the Indians have such low odds for being at home and on this kind of win streak. The Orioles aren’t exactly on fire right now and have a pitching with a near 5.00 ERA on the mound. Clevinger has been great in recent starts and should continue to do well at home. Stick with the Tribe tonight.
