Bet Tonight’s Royals vs. Yankees Game
From Rotoworld: Duffy struck out 10 over seven shutout innings in the Royals’ 5-1 win over the Yankees on Thursday. Duffy was electric, giving up just three singles and walking two on the evening. It was, by almost any measure, his best start of the year thus far, improving him to 3-3 with a 2.97 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in those nine starts. Even those numbers are skewed; removing a two-start stretch in late April and early May in which he allowed a combined 12 runs, Duffy hasn’t given up more than two runs in a start all year.
Montgomery allowed five runs over five innings in Thursday’s loss to the Royals. Montgomery walked three and gave up four hits, including a three-run homer to Mike Moustakas, over his five innings of work. The five runs were the most the southpaw has allowed in a single start to date, and the loss dropped him to 2-3 through seven starts. Montgomery will carry a 4.81 ERA and 1.40 WHIP into a rematch with the Royals.

OUR PREDICTION: Despite the under hitting last night, the over is still a profitable 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in New York and 8-3 in the last 11 games overall. The over is also 9-3 in the Yankees’ last 12 home games, is 9-4 in their last 13 games following a win, and is 5-1 in their last six games when their opponent scores two runs or less in their previous game. On the other side, the over is 5-1-2 in Duffy’s last eight road starts.
