Padres vs. Cubs Prediction
Will the Padres cover on the runline tonight when they take on the Cubs at 8:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cubs are -200 money line favorites versus the Padres, who have odds of +165 to pull off the upset in Chicago tonight. With Jhoulys Chacin set to face Mike Montgomery in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

Latest from Rotoworld: Chacin held the Reds to two runs over seven innings Wednesday for his sixth win. Chacin gave up a pair of solo homers but was otherwise sharp, yielding just five total hits and one walk while striking out four. The right-hander now boasts a 1.72 ERA in seven starts at Petco Park this season, and a 10.27 ERA in seven starts on the road. He’ll bring a 5.10 overall ERA into his next scheduled outing against the defending World Series champions.
Montgomery surrendered three runs — two earned — in five innings of work and took a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday. He left the game in line for the win but his bullpen blew that lead and more in the loss. He gave up six hits (all singles) and one free pass while striking out four batters in the contest. This was his second start after making 18 appearances in relief. He owns a cool 2.56 ERA with 35 strikeouts and 24 walks in 45 2/3 innings.
Bet Tonight’s Padres vs. Cubs Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Cubs are winless at 0-4 in Montgomery’s last four starts, are 2-9 in their last 11 games versus National League West opponents, and are 1-4 in their last five games following a win. So I’m not going to pay a premium on the Cubs, nor do I feel compelled to lay -1.5 on the runline to get Chicago at a more reasonable price. Thus, I’ll grab San Diego at +1.5 in a game that the Padres should keep the game close.
TUESDAY MLB PREDICTION: SAN DIEGO PADRES +1.5 (-110)
