Rangers vs. Yankees Prediction
Will the Rangers pull off a small upset tonight when they visit the struggling Yankees at 7:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Yankees are -115 money line favorites to beat the Rangers, who have odds of +105 to pull off the upset in the Bronx. With Yu Darvish set to face Masahiro Tanaka in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 10 runs.

From Rotoworld: Darvish allowed five runs on eight hits over five innings in Sunday’s loss to the Mariners. Not the best of times for Darvish in this one, as he surrendered four runs in the first inning, with the big blow in the frame coming on a two-run home run by Danny Valencia. The Mariners would tack on one more in the third inning. Darvish needed 99 pitches just to make it through five innings. This was his first start since April 18 (against Oakland) in which he has yielded more than three runs. The 30-year-old right-hander will try for sharper results when he brings his 3.35 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 99/36 K/BB ratio (94 innings) into a road start against the Yankees next time out.
Tanaka struck out 10 batters in four innings but gave up five runs and was charged with a loss to the Athletics on Saturday. He gave up solo homers to Matt Joyce once and Ryon Healy twice. All told he gave up eight hits and one walk but it was the bombs that did him in again. He has allowed a whopping 21 longballs in his 14 starts this year. He allowed 22 homers in 31 starts a year ago. Tanaka falls to 5-7 with a 6.34 ERA. He has a nice 76/21 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 76 2/3 innings, which indicates he will resume his ace-like ways if he can cure this nasty case of gopheritis.
Bet Tonight’s Rangers vs. Yankees Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Rangers have won five of their last seven games in New York and are 6-1 in their last seven road games. They’re also 9-4 in their last 13 games overall, are 8-2 in Darvish’s last 10 road startsand have won four straight when he starts on the road against a team with a winning record. On the other side, the Yankees have dropped eight of their last nine and are 1-6 in Tanaka’s last seven home starts. New York has been great at home (36-17 in their last 53 games at Yankee Stadium) and great when Tanaka starts at home (16-5 in his last 21 home starts), but I’m willing to buck those trends to take an underdog Texas team playing better ball at the moment.
