Gibson gave up three runs on five hits (including two home runs) and two walks while striking out five over five innings against the Royals on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision in the Twins’ 5-3 win. The right-handed held the Royals scoreless through four innings but they he fell apart from there, allowing four hits (three for extra bases) and a walk in the final eight batters that he faced.
Fulmer allowed zero runs on four hits with two walks while striking out four over six innings, but didn’t factor into the decision Friday against the Red Sox. Fulmer left the game when it was 4-0 but the Tigers’ bullpen imploded in the eighth inning and the right-hander missed out on a well-deserved victory.
