Indians vs. Twins Pick
Will the Cleveland Indians be able to further distance themselves in the AL Central when they go on the road to face the Minnesota Twins tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Cleveland is favored to win on the road, as the Indians are getting odds of -175 to win, while the Twins are getting a money line of +155 to win. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 9 runs. The road team has won seven straight between these two and nine of the last 10 meetings.

Today’s pitching matchup has Danny Salazar (4-5, 4.15 ERA) on the mound for Cleveland to face Bartolo Colon (2-1, 4.02) of the Twins. Colon has done surprisingly well in his last two starts. He threw a complete game against the Rangers two weeks ago and then had a 7-inning, scoreless performance against the Brewers last week. Colon has 58 strikeouts this season with 23 walks and a 1.62 WHIP. Salazar has been very good as of late as well, allowing just four earned runs over his last four starts, a total of 25.1 innings. Salazar has 113 strikeouts and 37 walks this season, as well as a 1.38 WHIP.
Cleveland has been an up-and-down team this season, but the Indians are currently hot. They have won four straight coming into today, including a win over Boston on Monday. The Indians are now 64-52 overall and 33-25 on the road. Cleveland is putting up 4.79 runs per game while allowing 3.86 per contest. The Indians are being led by Edwin Encarnacion, who has 26 home runs and 70 RBI. Jose Ramirez is adding 38 doubles, 18 home runs and 58 RBI.
The Twins are also playing well as of late, winning seven of their last eight games, with the lone loss being by one run to the Tigers. Minnesota is now 59-57 overall and 27-33 at home. The Twins are scoring 4.68 runs per game this season while giving up 5.11. Minnesota is being led by Eddie Rosario, who has 24 doubles, 16 home runs and 46 RBI. Miguel Sano is adding 26 home runs and 74 RBI.
The Twins have plenty of confidence right now and Colon has somehow put together some good outings lately. However, Cleveland is the better team overall. The Indians have the better lineup, the better starter and the better bullpen. I don’t think Colon is going to be able to silence the Indians’ hitters today and Minnesota could be silenced by Salazar. Cleveland just seems to have the edge on the road tonight.
