White Sox vs. Blue Jays Pick
Will the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays have another high-scoring game when the two meet up this afternoon at 1:07PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Toronto is the heavy favorite at home today, as the Jays are getting odds of -230 to win. Chicago is listed with a money line of +205 to prevail, while the over/under total has been set at 9 runs.

The pitching matchup for today’s game has Mike Pelfrey (2-5, 3.81 ERA) on the mound to face Marcus Stroman (7-2, 3.09) of the Blue Jays. Stroman has been one of Toronto’s top pitchers. He has allowed just five earned runs in his last 19 innings of work. This season he has 66 strikeouts with 20 walks and a 1.27 WHIP. Pelfrey actually pitched an inning of relief a few days ago. He has been pitching quite well since mid-May. He has allowed just six earned runs over his last six appearances. He has just 30 strikeouts with 21 walks on the season and a 1.33 WHIP.
The White Sox opened this weekend series on Friday with an 11-4 win at Toronto. They are now 30-36 overall, 15-24 on the road and 32-31 with the over. Toronto is 32-34 overall, 19-15 at home and 31-31 with the over.
Friday’s game was all Chicago, as the White Sox scored four runs in the first and never looked back, racking up a total of 14 hits in the win. Joe Biagini lasted just one inning, allowing seven runs on eight hits. Toronto had to use seven pitchers in the loss. Jose Quintana picked up his third win of 2017 by going seven innings and allowing just two runs. Melky Cabrera had a home run and drove in five runs to lead the Sox while Jose Abreu had two hits and three RBI. Justin Smoak led the Jays with his 19th home run of the season.
Bet on White Sox vs. Blue Jays
The White Sox are a big dog, but I actually think they can be worth a play on the money line. Pelfrey has been quite competitive for nearly a month. But, this pick is about the total. Toronto is going to need Stroman to go deep into this game due to how many arms they used last night. If he can’t, it’s going to be a rough day. The Sox have been on a nice run at the plate, scoring 38 runs in their last five games. I think their momentum continues against Stroman, despite his good numbers. Pelfrey should continue to pitch well, but doesn’t get deep into games. I think the combo of his short outing and the Chicago bullpen will give up a few runs to the Jays as well.
