MLB Predictions: Will the White Sox and Dodgers hit the under? 8/16/17

White Sox vs. Dodgers Pick

Will the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox have another low-scoring game when the two meet up tonight at 10:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Los Angeles is the clear favorite in this game, as the Dodgers are getting odds of -320 to prevail. The White Sox are listed with a money line of +260 to win, while the over/under total for the contest has been set at 7.5 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Carlos Rodon (1-4, 4.24 ERA) on the mound for the Sox to face Yu Darvish (2-0, 1.50) of the Dodgers. Rodon has been pitching well lately, allowing two runs or less in his last three starts. He has 55 strikeouts and 20 walks over eight starts and a 1.41 WHIP. Darvish has been pretty solid in his two starts for Los Angeles. He has allowed two runs in 12 innings with 20 strikeouts and three walks. He has 168 strikeouts and 48 walks on the season with a 1.15 WHIP.

The Dodgers opened the series with a 6-1 win at home on Tuesday night. They have won all three meetings with the Sox this year and the two have hit the under in two of their three meetings. Los Angeles is now 84-34 overall, 50-14 at home and 59-55 with the under. Chicago is 45-71 overall, 20-40 on the road and 56-55 with the under.

These two had a low-scoring game going on Tuesday, but the Dodgers put up five runs in the eighth to flirt with the over. Alex Wood pitched seven innings allowed just one run for the Dodgers while Miguel Gonzalez allowed one run over six innings. The Chicago bullpen gave up the five runs over three innings of work. Corey Seager had two hits and drove in two runs to lead Los Angeles in the win while Austin Barnes had a two-run single in a pinch-hit effort. Chicago got its lone run on a solo home run from Tim Anderson.

Bet on White Sox vs. Dodgers

Both pitchers are doing well right now, so I can see another low-scoring game. Rodon seems more likely to get lit up, but he has been at his best in recent starts. Darvish has looked very comfortable in Los Angeles and has been racking up the strikeouts. The key will be for the Chicago bullpen to not completely implode again.

MLB DAILY PREDICTION: WHITE SOX/DODGERS UNDER 7.5
