Cubs vs. Reds Prediction
After two straight unders hit, will the over finally cash in the Cubs-Reds series on Sunday?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cubs are -145 money line favorites versus the Reds, who have odds of +125 to pull off the upset at home again. With Jake Arrieta set to face Tim Adleman in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Arrieta was victimized in Tuesday’s loss to the Naionals, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits over four-plus innings of work. Arrieta struggled badly with his command, issuing six free passes in this one while striking out four. The Nationals also exploited his inability to stop the running game, swiping seven bases in the game. The 31-year-old hurler now sits at 7-6 on the season with a disappointing 4.67 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 93/31 K/BB ratio. He’ll look to turn things around on Sunday when he takes on the Reds in Cincinnati.
Adleman picked up his fifth victory of the year on Tuesday despite allowing five runs on five hits over his five innings. On the plus side for fantasy owners, Adleman did rack up seven strikeouts while walking three. All of the damage against him was done via the long ball, with Manny Pina and Orlando Arcia swatting solo homers in the second and Travis Shaw adding a three-run blast in the third. Now 5-4 on the season, he’ll carry a 4.62 ERA and 1.32 WHIP into Sunday’s matchup against the Cubs.
Bet Today’s Cubs vs. Reds Game
OUR PREDICTION: I liked the over in the first two games of this series and got burned, but for better or worse, I’m going back to the well today. The over is 4-0-1 in Arrieta’s last five road starts versus the Reds and is 3-0-1 in his last four outings overall versus Cincinnati. The over is also 34-14-3 in the last 51 meetings in this series and is 39-17-3 in the last 59 games between the Cubs and Reds in Cincinnati.
