From Rotoworld: Pomeranz picked up his eighth victory of the season on Sunday, limiting the Blue Jays to one run on five hits over six strong innings. The southpaw punched out three while walking two on the afternoon. The Red Sox staked him to an early lead in this one and Pomeranz had it on cruise control from there. He’ll carry a 3.64 ERA and 1.32 WHIP into his final start of the first half on Friday against the Rays in Tampa Bay.
Odorizzi surrendered three runs in five innings and was credited with a win against the Orioles on Saturday. He wasn’t at his best but he got the job done. He gave up a two-run bomb to second baseman Jonathan Schoop to account for most of the damage. Odorizzi yielded five base hits and two walks while fanning three batters. It took him 111 pitches to make it through the five innings he needed to qualify for the win. He moves to 5-3 with a 4.08 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through 15 starts. He has 67 strikeouts in 79 1/3 innings.
