From Rotoworld: Holmberg pitched 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Thursday. Holmberg has been surprisingly effective in four starts and seven relief appearances, but the White Sox still don’t have a ton of faith in him, probably for good reason. He will remain in the rotation; he hasn’t pitched more than five innings in any of his four starts, but he has a respectable 3.71 ERA.
Berrios pitched eight innings of two-run ball to defeat the Mariners on Thursday. Berrios’s previous four starts hadn’t really compared to his first two, but this was a superior effort. He lasted eight innings for the first time, and he walked just one after issuing 11 free passes over 22 2/3 innings his last four times out. It was also against a better offense than the ones he faced in Anaheim and San Francisco earlier this month. He’s now 6-1 with a 2.74 ERA.
