Giants vs. Brewers Preview
MILWAUKEE, WI (AP) – The Milwaukee Brewers have won more home games than any team and have seemed to recover from a seven-game losing streak to start May. Yovani Gallardo has contributed heavily during the team’s surge and has enjoyed his own stretch of dominance at Miller Park.

The streaking Gallardo takes the mound Sunday as Milwaukee hosts the San Francisco Giants in the deciding game of a three-game set.
The Brewers (28-24) improved to 20-7 at home and 7-1 on their current homestand after Saturday’s 3-2 victory on Jonathan Lucroy’s squeeze bunt in the ninth inning. They’ve won 10 of 11 at Miller Park and are 15-5 since May 7 following their season-worst skid.
According to MLB odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Brewers -135 money line favorites for Sunday’s game against the Giants. Current MLB Public Betting Information shows that 54% of more than 140 bets for this game have been placed on the Giants +125.
“We just do anything we can to win,” Lucroy said. We can hit home runs to beat you. Today, I got the squeeze that way. We find different ways to beat people. With the way our team’s pitching, I think we can give anybody a run for their money.”
Gallardo (6-2, 4.35 ERA) has been just as hot, winning his last four starts while sporting a 1.67 ERA. He has allowed 16 hits in 27 innings over those starts and struck out nine in each of his previous two outings.
The right-hander is unbeaten in his last eight starts at Miller Park after allowing one run over seven innings Monday in an 11-3 win against Washington. He’s 6-0 with a 3.48 ERA during that stretch, with his last home loss coming Aug. 26 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Gallardo has made three career starts against the Giants – all at Miller Park – going 2-1 with a 3.15 ERA. The loss came in his last start against San Francisco on Sept. 5, 2009, when Matt Cain (3-3, 3.53 ERA) beat him 3-2.
Cain will oppose Gallardo again Sunday, though he’s struggled since a 2-0 start. The right-hander is 1-3 with a 4.43 ERA in his last seven outings after allowing four runs in six innings Tuesday in a 5-1 loss to Florida.
Cain has fared well against the bulk of Milwaukee’s lineup, including Corey Hart, who is just 1 for 10 lifetime against Cain.
However, Hart has hit well over his last four games, going 6 for 15 (.400) which includes a three-homer, seven-RBI game Tuesday against the Nationals.
Ryan Braun is 4 for 12 in his career against Cain and has hit safely in 16 of 17 games. He scored the winning run Saturday after he led off the ninth inning with a single.
While the Brewers have been surging, the defending World Series champion Giants (28-23) have struggled. They’ve lost three of four following a five-game winning streak and fell Saturday after rallying from two down in the eighth inning.
“They battled,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “Down two runs, and they found a way to tie and had a good opportunity.”
Right fielder Cody Ross misplayed a hit by Carlos Gomez in the first inning, resulting it what was scored as an inside-the-park home run.
“It should not be an inside-the-park home run,” Ross said. “What happened was I went down to go get it and I whiffed, and it got by me. Error. That’s it.”
San Francisco had won five straight in Milwaukee before the loss.
