World Series Game 5 Pick
The San Francisco Giants are one win away from winning the 2010 World Series, and the Giants look to wrap it up tonight when they face the Texas Rangers at 7:55PM ET.
The Giants took the commanding 3-1 lead in the series on Sunday night thanks to an eight-inning shutout performance by Madison Bumgarner. Aubrey Huff added a two-run home run in the third inning.
Tonight, both teams send their aces to the mound as Cliff Lee faces Tim Lincecum. These two met in Game 1 and the Giants ended up prevailing 11-7.
Here are some trends to consider and my pick for Game 5 of the World Series:
San Francisco Giants vs. Texas Rangers, 7:55PM ET
Lee is 3-1 against the Giants with a 2.83 ERA while Lincecum is 1-0 against the Rangers but has a 6.35 ERA.
The Giants are just 2-6 in their least eight interleague road games while the Rangers are 4-0 in Lee’s last four starts following a team loss in the previous game.
Texas has to win and has their ace on the mound while Lincecum has been a bit shaky in the second half of the baseball season. The Giants want to win, but might be a little bit relaxed because they have three games to close the series. Look for Lee to perform much better than he did in Game 1 and guide the Rangers to a win.
