Mets vs. Phillies Prediction
The defending National League pennant winners will attempt to get to .500 tonight with a win over the Phillies when the Mets visit their division rivals at 7:05PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Mets are -180 money line favorites versus the Phillies, who have odds of +157 to pull off the upset at home. The total, meanwhile, sits at 6.5 runs with Noah Syndergaard set to face Jerad Eickhoff in the pitching matchup.

Michael Conforto went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI doubles in Sunday’s win over the Indians. He opened the scoring in the first inning when he hit an RBI double off Cleveland ace Corey Kluber and then went on to hit his second double just an inning later. Conforto will continue to see time in the middle of New York’s lineup against right-handed pitchers.

As for the Phillies, they snapped the Nationals’ win streak on Sunday when Freddy Galvis hit a walkoff RBI double in the team’s 3-2 victory. Galvis hit the game-winner off Washington closer Jonathan Papelbon moments after Andres Blanco had tied the game with an RBI single.
OUR PICK: I expect both starters to pitch well tonight. Syndergaard has been unhittable through two starts, posting a 0.69 ERA to go along with a 14.54 K/9 rating and a 1.38 BB/9 rate. But Eickhoff has been solid as well, striking out nine Padres in his last outing while walking zero to pick up his first win. His 1.50 ERA through two starts has been a welcome sign to the Phillies and although he did allow three runs on five hits over five innings, he’s faced the Mets already this season so he knows what to expect. The under is 5-2 in the Phillies’ last seven games overall and 7-3 in the Mets’ last 10 games versus the division.
