Yankees Season Odds
After adding two of the biggest names in free agency this offseason, the New York Yankees are 11/2 favorites to win the 2009 MLB World Series and 5/2 to win the American League Pennant.
After adding the best free agent arm available in CC Sabathia and the best free agent bat in Mark Teixeira, oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global established the Yankees as 11/2 favorites to win the 2009 MLB World Series. Oddsmakers also favor the Bronx Bombers in the American League, making them 5/2 favorites to take home the AL Pennant.
The Yankees boast one of the best rosters in all of baseball, from Teixeira, to Derek Jeter to Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada. The starting rotation is solid as well, headlined by Sabathia, Chien-Ming Wang and offseason free agent addition A.J. Burnett.
Outside of playing in a division that also features the Boston Red Sox and defending American League champs the Tampa Bay Rays, the only thing that could derail a successful season for the Yanks is a rash of injuries. But if this club can stay healthy, skies the limit for them in ’09.
