Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Jurickson Profar hit his 15th home run of the season in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals. Profar caught a hanging Adam Wainwright breaking ball in the sixth inning and ripped it out to right for a solo homer. It ended up being the game-winning run. It was also his only hit in four at-bats, and just his 10th hit since June ended. It’s just been a year to forget for the 26-year-old, who’s hitting a miserable .206/.270/.389 in 97 games. He does have those 15 homers and seven steals, but it’s certainly not what the A’s were hoping to get when they traded for Profar this past winter.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-2 with a solo homer, a walk and a pair of runs scored in the Cubs’ win over the Brewers on Sunday. Schwarber tattooed a line-drive rocket into the right field seats off Brewers starter Adrian Houser in the fifth inning. It was his 25th round-tripper of the season. He also walked in the first, singled in the third and finally was hit by a pitch and scored a run in the seventh. The 26-year-old slugger owns a .228/.325/.484 triple-slash line with 56 runs scored, 55 RBI and one stolen base in 424 plate appearances this season.
MLB Betting Trends
Oakland
The A’s are 6-1 in their last seven games overall and have won four out of their last five games coming off a victory.
Chicago
The Cubs are 4-1 in their last five games overall and have won 36 of their last 52 games played at Wrigley Field.
Prediction:
The A’s have not had success against the Cubs in previous meetings (1-4), but Chicago is just 1-6 in Kyle Hendricks’ last seven starts. The Cubs are also just 1-6 in their last seven games when their opponent allowed two runs or fewer in their previous game, which Oakland did on Sunday in its 4-2 win over the Cardinals. Speaking of the A’s, they’re 22-10 in their last 32 road games and have won six of Chris Bassitt’s last eight starts. They’re worth a flier as an underdog tonight.
The Pick: Oakland A’s +132
