Bet Tonight’s A’s vs. Yankees Game
Graveman hasn’t pitched as well as his 2.38 ERA would indicate, but his FIP is still in the average range. The number that sticks out is his BABIP, which is .176, indicating he’s received plenty of batted ball good fortunate. That number will start to rise, especially since he’s striking out just 5.56 per nine.

As for Eovaldi, he’s 0-1 on the year and owns a 6.94 ERA, which is at least somewhat comparable to his FIP of 5.47. Bottom line: He’s off to a rough start. He is striking out 11.57 per nine and only walking 1.54, but he’s allowing 3.09 HR/9, which is staggering (the league average is 1.03 right now). Eovaldi is striking out plenty of batters but when his opposition puts the ball in play, it’s leaving the yard at an alarming rate.
TODAY’S PREDICTION: The under has been cashing in plenty of Yankees and A’s games this season, including last night when the teams combined to score just 5 runs despite playing extra innings. That said, the scoreboard at Yankee Stadium is long overdue for a workout and that workout should come tonight with Eovaldi and Graveman on the hill. If Eovaldi continues to serve up home runs and Graveman’s BABIP starts to rise, you’ll see plenty of runners crossing home plate tonight.
WEDNESDAY MLB PREDICTION: A’S/YANKEES OVER 8.5
