Odds high that Griffey & Piazza inducted into Hall of Fame, but not Bonds

2016 Baseball Hall of Fame Odds

While the odds are extremely high that Ken Griffey Jr. will be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame Class, they don’t paint an optimistic picture for Barry Bonds and others.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the odds that Griffey Jr. will be inducted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame this year are -9900. The odds that he won’t be inducted into the 2016 HOF class are +8000, suggesting that it would be a total upset if Griffey were to be left out.

The odds also favor former catcher Mike Piazza, who is -575 to be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame class. His odds of not being inducted are +400. Tim Raines also has somewhat favorable odds at -109 to be inducted, although the odds of him being left out in 2016 are -111.

As for Bonds, his odds of being inducted this year are +3223. The odds that he won’t get in are -8092, which are the same odds that BetDSI gave Roger Clemens of being inducted into the HOF in 2016. Bonds and Clemens are the biggest longshots on the board at BetDSI.

While their chances of getting in are significantly better than Bonds and Clemens, the odds don’t favor former Astros slugger Jeff Bagwell or former Diamondbacks pitcher Curt Schilling. The odds that Bagwell will be inducted in 2016 are +174 (and -221 that he won’t get in), while Schilling’s odds are +174 of getting in and -219 to be left out this year.
