Padres vs. Cardinals Prediction
The Padres and Cardinals open a new series on Memorial Day at 2:15 p.m. ET when Nick Martinez opposes Packy Naughton in the opener. Given the Padres’ lack of success against the Cardinals in previous meetings, is St. Louis the play today as a slight home favorite?

San Diego Padres DFS SPIN
Trent Grisham went 1-for-3 with a two-run walk-off home run Sunday, lifting the Padres to a 4-2 victory over the Pirates. Jorge Alfaro was placed at second base to begin the bottom of the 10th and Grisham drove him in a 100.1 mph home run that bounced off of the foul pole. He’s batting just .164 over 146 at-bats, but the season’s still young.

Jack Flaherty (shoulder) is slated to face live hitters again on Wednesday. Flaherty faced live hitters for the first time on Thursday and will repeat the process with Wednesday’s session. If all goes well, there’s a chance that he could be cleared to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Given how long of a layoff he has had though, that rehab assignment figures to be pretty lengthy. It would be somewhat surprising to see him back with the Cardinals before the end of June.
Padres vs. Cardinals MLB BETTING PREDICTION
The Padres are just 21-53 in their last 74 games against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium and are 13-28 in their last 41 games versus an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the Cardinals have won six of their last eight games overall, are 5-2 in their last seven games versus a right-handed starter and have won five of their last seven at home.
