San Diego Padres DFS Notes
Jake Cronenworth (finger) is expected back at some point this weekend. Cronenworth has been out since Friday after he suffered a small fracture on his left ring finger. The infielder is expected to play at shortstop, second and first base upon his return according to manager Jayce Tingler. Wherever Cronenworth plays, he’s worth fantasy consideration as seen in his .814 OPS, 20 homers and 89 runs scored over 136 games played.
St. Louis Cardinals DFS Notes
Paul Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and three runs scored as the Cardinals topped the Mets 11-4 on Wednesday. Goldschmidt, who had been cold of late, went 6-for-13 with two homers, two doubles and three walks in the three-game sweep of the Mets. The homer tonight was his 26th of the year, and he has 17 games left in order to get to 30 for the sixth time in his career.
Padres vs. Cardinals MLB Betting Prediction
The Padres are just 21-50 in their last 71 games at Busch Stadium, are 0-4 in their last four games when playing the first game of a series and are 2-11 in their last 13 games as a road underdog. On the other side, the Cardinals are a perfect 5-0 in their last five games overall, are 4-0 in their last four games versus a right-handed starter and are 13-6 in their last 19 games as a favorite.
