Ian Happ went 3-for-3 with a solo homer on Sunday in the Cubs’ lopsided defeat at the hands of the Yankees. Happ, who reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances in the one-sided affair, gave the Cubs an early lead with a no-doubter to right field against Yankees’ starter Jameson Taillon in the opening frame. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season. He also added a triple and a single in the three-hit effort. The 27-year-old outfielder is hitting .275/.378/.466 with 29 runs scored, seven homers, 30 RBI and five steals across 230 plate appearances.
