San Diego Padres DFS SPIN

Jake Arrieta allowed three runs on three hits and one walk with three strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Friday. Arrieta made his second start for the Padres on Friday, giving up three runs over five innings to the Astros in San Diego. All three runs would score in the fourth inning. He gave up a leadoff single to Michael Brantley before walking Kyle Tucker to put two runners on. Carlos Correa followed with a three-run homer to give Houston the lead. Arrieta tossed one more scoreless inning before his day was done at 64 pitches — 41 for strikes. The 35-year-old right-hander is in line for a matchup against the Dodgers in Los Angeles next week.

San Francisco Giants DFS Spin

Brandon Belt hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Padres on Monday. Belt cemented the blowout with a two-run shot off Yu Darvish in the fourth inning to make it 8-1. The first baseman is up to 24 roundtrippers on the season, and improves his season OPS to .937 over 87 games. Simply put, when Belt is healthy — and unfortunately that’s a necessary qualifier — he’s a strong fantasy option who appears to be getting better despite turning 33 in April.
