Wil Myers went 3-for-6 with two homers and a career-high seven RBI on Friday, powering the Padres to a 24-8 blowout victory over the Nationals.Myers spearheaded the Padres’ surreal 24-run explosion, crushing a grand slam to left-center field off righty reliever Paolo Espino in the second inning. He also slugged a two-run shot off righty Wander Suero in the sixth inning to record his second multi-homer effort of the season. He capped off the monster performance with an RBI single in the eighth inning. The 30-year-old outfielder is hitting .259/.333/.452 with 30 runs scored, 12 home runs, 44 RBI and five steals across 297 plate appearances.
Washington Nationals DFS Notes
Juan Soto walloped two homers and plated four runs on Friday, but it wasn’t enough to spare the Nationals from a lopsided defeat at the hands of the Padres. Soto put the Nationals on the board with a three-run shot off righty Chris Paddack in the opening frame and also added a solo homer against righty Miguel Diaz in the sixth inning. It was his second multi-homer performance of the season. The 22-year-old fantasy stalwart has begun to heat up from an over-the-fence power standpoint, slashing .292/.412/.473 with 56 runs scored, 13 home runs, 46 RBI and five steals across 337 plate appearances.
