San Diego Padres DFS SPIN
Padres manager Jayce Tingler said Saturday that he’s “confident” Blake Snell (illness) will make his next start on Sunday against the Phillies. Snell was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Reds and placed on the injured list the following day. Based on the comments from Tingler, it sounds like the 28-year-old left-hander will be ready to go on Sunday afternoon.
Philadelphia Phillies DFS Spin
Rhys Hoskins homered, double and drove in two runs on Saturday in a 4-2 win over the Padres. Hoskins swatted his 18th homer of the season off Yu Darvish, and then doubled in a run in the sixth against Darvish to make it 4-2. The first baseman also drew a walk, and he’s slashing .225/.301/.460 in an even 80 games. The power is nice, but it’d be nicer to see Hoskins contributing in some other categories.
Padres vs. Phillies Betting Prediction
The Padres are just 2-5 in their last seven games versus the Phillies and are 7-16 in their last 23 meetings at Citizens Bank Park. The Padres have also lost 12 of their last 15 games on the road, are 1-6 in their last seven games versus National League East opponents and are winless in their last eight road games when facing an opponent with a losing record. The Phillies are also 4-1 in their last five games versus a team with a winning record and are 5-2 in their last seven games when their opponent scores two runs or less in their previous game.
