Philadelphia Phillies DFS SPIN
Kyle Schwarber homered Thursday in a loss to the Astros in Game 5 of the World Series. Schwarber blistered the second pitch of the game from Justin Verlander for a leadoff homer; the 26th such homer in World Series history and the first for Philadelphia. He also drew a walk in the contest. Unfortunately for the Phillies and Schwarber, it wasn’t enough, and now Philadelphia will need to win two games in Houston in order to take home a championship.
Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Jeremy Peña homered and drove in two runs to help the Astros to a 3-2 victory Thursday in Game 5 of the World Series over the Phillies. Peña picked up three hits in the contest. His first was a single with the infield drawn in to score Jose Altuve in the first that gave the Astros a 1-0 lead. With the score tied 1-1 in the fourth, he clobbered a Noah Syndergaard pitch into the bleachers to give Houston a 2-1 cushion and end Syndergaard’s night. The 25-year-old has his first homer of the World Series, and his fourth of the postseason. After a strong rookie campaign, Peña appears to be having a star-making postseason, and has helped Houston to be one win away from a World Series title.
