Texas Rangers DFS SPIN
Jon Gray recorded six strikeouts over four innings Sunday in a Cactus League start against the Brewers. Gray surrendered one run on four hits and a pair of walks in his final spring tuneup. An RBI single off the bat of Kolten Wong in the third inning represented the lone tally against him in this one. The 30-year-old righty will take the ball on Friday in the Rangers’ season opener against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
Toronto Blue Jays DFS Spin
Jose Berrios allowed two runs on six hits, walked a batter, and struck out three over five innings in Saturday’s Grapefruit League matchup against the Phillies. Berrios allowed a baserunner in each of his first four innings of work, but three double plays helped bail him out. His sinker topped out at 95.5 mph, but he induced just two whiffs on 29 swings (6.9% whiff rate). Nonetheless, he was named the Blue Jays’ Opening Day starter a few days ago and he’ll be making his first start of 2022 at home against the Rangers on Friday.
