The Rangers will send right-hander Nathan Eovaldi to the mound for the Thursday night series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays will counter with Kevin Gausman. With the Blue Jays listed as a home favorite and the total sitting at 8 runs, what is the best tonight from Toronto?

Texas Rangers DFS SPIN
Robbie Grossman, Nathaniel Lowe, and Mitch Garver all recorded home runs in Wednesday’s 10-0 win against Toronto. It was a welcome sign for Texas to see Lowe go deep as the left-handed slugging first baseman has not recorded a home run since August 18th. Robbie Grossman has had a big series in Toronto, homering in consecutive nights for the first time this season. Texas will look to continue their hot series at the plate, but will face a tough opponent, Kevin Gausman.
Toronto Blue Jays DFS SPIN
Santiago Espinal and Ernie Clement both went 2-3 in a very disappointing evening for Toronto on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays offense only recorded 5 total hits in their 10-0 loss to Texas. Bo Bichette will look to help spark the Blue Jays’ offensively, as he is yet to record a hit this series in 12 plate appearances thus far. Bichette has had some success against Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi, recording 3 hits in 9 plate appearances throughout his career.
Rangers vs. Blue Jays MLB Betting Trends
Kevin Gausman holds a career 5-2 record with an ERA of 3.21 against Texas.
The total has gone OVER in 4 of the 6 games in this series this year.
The Blue Jays are 6-4 SU over their last 10 home games.
Texas is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.
Rangers vs. Blue Jays MLB BETTING PREDICTION
Every game is extremely important for both teams closing out the final 2 ½ weeks of the season. As it sits right now, the Rangers are a 1.5 game up on the Blue Jays in the AL wild card standings.
Texas winners of six straight will give the ball to Nathan Eovaldi to try and complete the sweep. Eovaldi has been great for the Rangers this season posting an 11-4 record with a 2.90 ERA and a WHIP around 1.00. Unfortunately, for Eovaldi a right forearm strain put him on the IL for nearly seven weeks and the Rangers struggled without him. Eovladi returned on September 5th against the Astros and had a tough outing giving up five earned runs and lasting only 1.1 innings. Eovaldi was better in his most recent start against the A’s allowing 3 hits and 0 runs in 2.1 innings of work.
Texas manager Bruce Bochy has closely monitored his pitch count allowing him throw around 40-50 pitches in his first two outings off the IL. I would expect he would continue to gradually stretch out his pitch count maybe somewhere in the 70-80 pitches range. Regardless of the exact pitch count he more than likely won’t go deep in this game which leaves a lot of work for a Rangers bullpen that should be all hands-on deck after saving their top arms in Wednesday’s 10-0 win.
Toronto will hand the ball to their ace Kevin Gausman to try and silent these hot bats for Texas. Gausman was excellent last time out against Kansas City where he threw 8 innings while only allowing 1 earned run and striking out 10. While Gausman may not have the same level of success against Texas, he should be ready to go for an important game with major playoff implications. Let’s look for a pitcher’s duel in Toronto tonight and back the Under in this one.
