Tampa Bay Rays DFS SPIN
Brandon Lowe went 2-for-3 with two runs, a homer, two walks, and two RBI in Tampa’s loss to the Mets Wednesday. He homered down the right-field line to give the Rays a 4-2 lead in the eighth, then narrowly missed another in the ninth against Stephen Nogosek that went just foul. He settled for a walk in that at-bat. Lowe had not posted more than one hit in a game in all of May, and he’s now greeted the Mets rudely in back-to-back games. If you want to be pessimistic, he didn’t get in on the eight-steal parade the Rays ran on Mets pitchers. Lowe’s power keeps him in the 2B conversation in fantasy despite a .208 average on the season.
New York Mets DFS SPIN
Pete Alonso hit a three-run walk-off homer in the 10th inning Wednesday, leading the Mets to an 8-7 extra-inning win over the Rays. Alonso went 1-for-5, but on a night of dramatic come-from-behind dingers for the Mets, his was the last. It was his 15th of the season, which unties him from Max Muncy for the major league lead at the moment. Alonso has scuffled over the past 15 games, hitting .196/.349/.451, but he’s still hitting for power and producing runs and RBIs off it. He remains an elite fantasy producer despite the lower seasonal average.
