Tampa Bay Rays DFS SPIN
Trevor Kelley will function as an opener for the Rays in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Red Sox. Tyler Glasnow — who had been scheduled to start on Friday before the rain washed that one away — will start in the nightcap on Saturday. The 30-year-old right-hander has made eight appearances (two as an opener) for the Rays already this season — posting a 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 6/4 K/BB ratio over 11 innings. Don’t expect him to work more than an inning or two on Saturday.
Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Red Sox placed LHP Chris Sale on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation. The 34-year-old southpaw was pulled from Thursday’s start against the Reds after 3 2/3 innings due to a shoulder issue and was sent for an MRI that evening — the results of which are not yet known. Sale told reporters on Friday that he doesn’t believe that he will require surgery, but that they won’t have a full diagnosis for another week or so. It sure sounds like he’s going to be sidelined for a while.
