Tampa Bay Rays DFS Notes
Nelson Cruz slugged his 29th and 30th home runs Tuesday as part of a four-hit day in the Rays’ win over the Red Sox. They were both bombs, with Cruz’s two-run shot in the third inning traveling 410 feet and 107.9 mph off the bat and his solo blast in the fifth going 438 feet and a whopping 115.2 mph off the bat. Cruz also added a double and a single, and even his groundout was hit 109.5 mph. This is the eighth 30-homer season of Cruz’s career and his seventh straight if you don’t count the truncated 2020 campaign.
Boston Red Sox DFS Notes
Bobby Dalbec didn’t start Tuesday but still homered twice in the Red Sox’ loss to the Rays. Kyle Schwarber got the start at first base in this one, but after the Rays built a big lead Dalbec entered at third base in place of Rafael Devers. The 26-year-old got a plate appearance in the eighth inning and in the ninth and slugged a two-run home run off of David Hess each time. Dalbec is now up to 20 dingers on the season, with nearly half of them (nine) coming in his last 21 games.
