Enrique Hernández was a one-man wrecking crew on Friday night going 4-for-5 with a pair of solo homers and a double in the Red Sox’ loss to the Astros in Game 1 of the ALCS. The 30-year-old started his evening by robbing Michael Brantley of a surefire RBI base hit to end a bases-loaded jam in the third inning. Hernández would go on to lead off the following inning with a blast a game-tying home run that traveled an estimated 448 feet over the centerfield wall. The former Dodger would go on to add another difficult catch that he almost overran in deep right-center before connecting for a second solo home run in the top of the ninth as Boston came up short in their comeback attempt. Hernandez tied Robin Yount and George Brett as the only other players to have two four-plus hit games in a single postseason, trailing only Albert Pujols who has three.

Carlos Correa went 3-for-4 with a go-ahead solo homer on Friday night, powering the Astros to a 5-4 comeback victory over the Red Sox in Game 1 of the ALCS. The 27-year-old continues to build his resume for his upcoming free agency by hitting a no-doubt blast to left field with two outs in the seventh inning. Correa would pose at home plate, pointing to his imaginary watch screaming “It’s my time,” before circling the bases to put Houston ahead by a run. The Astros shortstop is batting .471 this postseason with five RBI.
