Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Jarren Duran homered and drove in three runs for the Red Sox on Monday in a 3-2 win for Boston over the Astros. Duran drove in his first run with a ground-rule double, but the big blow was a two-run blast in the fifth off Luis Garcia to give Boston their 3-2 lead and ultimately a victory. To say it’s been an up-and-down year for the 25-year-old is an understatement, but this is a nice reminder that it’s not a question of talent. He can be a helper for the remainder of 2022, and the long-term potential is obvious.
Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Aledmys Diaz drove in a run while going 2-for-4 Monday against the Red Sox. Diaz doubled in a run in the third off an otherwise effective Nathan Eovaldi to give Houston a 2-1 lead. It’d be the last run scored for Houston in a 3-2 loss. Diaz has been so-so in his time with the Astros in 2022 as seen in a .255/.309/.426 slash over 216 at-bats.
Red Sox vs. Astros MLB BETTING PREDICTION
The Red Sox are just 2-5 in their last seven games at Minute Maid Park despite winning in Houston last night. They’ve also dropped nine straight games when playing the second contest of a series, are 1-5 in their last six road games versus a right-handed starter and are 3-11 in their last 14 games overall when facing a righty. On the other side, the Astros are 38-15 in their last 53 games following a loss, are 5-2 in their last seven games when facing an American League East opponent and are 20-6 in their last 26 games after scoring two runs or less in their previous game.
