Red Sox acquired OF Kyle Schwarber from the Nationals in exchanged for RHP Aldo Ramirez. The move was first reported by Robert Murray of FanSided. Schwarber is currently on the injured list with a hamstring injury, and isn’t expected to be back for a few weeks. When healthy, he’s been among the best power hitters in baseball with 25 homers in 72 games and a .910 OPS. Once healthy, the former Cub slugger should hit either at the top or in the middle of the Boston lineup.
Tampa Bay Rays DFS Notes
Austin Meadows went 3-for-5 with two homers and five RBI as the Rays crushed the Yankees 14-0 on Thursday. Obviously, Meadows wasn’t hitting third today. His incredible struggles in that spot continued last night, when he went 0-for-4 to drop him to .093 with no homers and six RBI in 29 games there this year. He hit cleanup today and has a .312 average, 11 homers and 40 RBI in 33 games in that spot. He’s also hit .293 with eight homers and 21 RBI in 20 games while batting second.
