Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Jeurys Familia took a blown save and a loss after giving up two runs while getting just one out against the Rays in the seventh inning Monday. Maybe the Red Sox no longer have a sense of urgency at this point, but part of the problem is that they’ve never had one at any point of the season. Familia was released by the Phillies last month for good reason, yet the Red Sox, after already having used him yesterday, brought him in with a one-run lead in the seventh today. It didn’t go well. His ERA stands at 5.82 through 43 1/3 innings.
Tampa Bay Rays DFS SPIN
Wander Franco had to be removed from Monday’s rehab game with Triple-A Durham due to renewed soreness in his right hand. Uh oh. Franco had been slated to play seven innings but was lifted after five because he “felt it a little bit” in his surgically-repaired right hand, per Rays manager Kevin Cash. Franco had just restarted a rehab assignment Sunday after having to be pulled his initial assignment due to discomfort. Durham is off Tuesday, so Franco will be re-evaluated Wednesday.
