Royals vs. Guardians Prediction
The Royals used the long ball to upset the Guardians in Game 1 of the teams’ series on Monday night. Is Kansas City worth a roll of the dice on Tuesday night when this series continues from Progressive Field at 7:10 p.m. ET? Or is there a smarter bet on the board?

Kansas City Royals DFS SPIN
Salvador Perez slugged a two-run homer on Monday, lifting the Royals to a 5-3 victory over the Guardians. Perez connected on a sixth-inning offering from rookie southpaw Logan Allen for his 17th long ball of the season. He also became just the 10th catcher in major-league history to eclipse 200 career home runs in the process. The 33-year-old backstop, who has been playing through nagging injuries the past few weeks, has homered in back-to-back contests after failing to leave the yard since June 23.
Cleveland Guardians DFS SPIN
Aaron Civale yielded two runs in 5 1/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Pirates. Civale held his own today, but his velocity was way down from his usual norms. His sinker averaged just 88.8 mph, which is four mph less than his season average. Civale’s velocity had been up from last year for most of June, but it fell off some in his most recent start Friday. Still, it didn’t suggest that this was coming. Maybe we’ll find out that he was sick or something… that’d be better than the alternative.

Royals vs. Guardians MLB BETTING PREDICTION
I like the under. As previously mentioned, Civale’s velocity was down in his last start, but his overall numbers on the season are excellent (3-2, 2.71 ERA) and he’s had good success against Kansas City in his career, too (3-1, 3.50 ERA over 46 1/3 innings). On the other side, Zack Greinke has poor numbers this season (1-10, 5.40), but has found a way over his career to pitch well versus Cleveland (12-9, 3.40 ERA in 36 games – 31 starts). While a lot of that healthy production came earlier in his career when he was a better overall pitch, he still finds a way to generate soft contact, keep the ball in the yard and the run production down for the opposition.
MLB BETTING PREDICTION: ROYALS/GUARDIANS UNDER 8.5
