Royals vs. Yankees Prediction
Billy McKinney belted a three-run homer and contributed a pair of excellent catches in center field as the Yankees snapped their four-game skid on Friday evening, opening their homestand with a 5-4 victory over the Royals. What’s the smart play for Game 2 at 1:05 p.m. ET on Saturday?

Kansas City Royals DFS SPIN
Michael Massey homered twice to drive in all four Royals runs Friday in the loss to the Yankees. Massey hadn’t homered since May 29. In fact, he had hit just .139 with one run scored in 23 games since that last homer. He certainly has more pop that his career numbers suggest; he came into the night with 31 barrels but just eight homers in 437 plate appearances since debuting last year. Kauffman deserves some of the blame there, but the fact is that he’s been just as mediocre on the road as at home thus far.
New York Yankees DFS SPIN
Billy McKinney hit a three-run homer and walked Friday as the Yankees edged the Royals 5-4. Starting for the first time since Saturday, McKinney played center field tonight with Harrison Bader absent. The homer, his first since June 24, might lead to more playing time in the coming days. While he’s struggled to get anything going in limited time lately, he’s still hitting a respectable .247/.299/.494 in 87 plate appearances overall.

Royals vs. Yankees MLB BETTING PREDICTION
There’s no value in backing the Yankees at -225 on the moneyline, so let’s examine the total. Gerrit Cole develied a dominant performance in a tough-luck no-decision against the Rockies at Coors Field last Sunday, racking up 11 strikeouts over six innings of one-run ball. The effort brought his ERA down to 2.78 and his WHIP is now 1.09. He should shut down the Royals’ offense, which has been better of late, but still weak overall. On the other side, Brady Singer owns a 5.70 ERA and has the lowest strikeout rate of his career, but he’s facing a depleted Yankee lineup – one without Aaron Judge, Josh Donaldson and Jake Bauers due to injury. I like the under.
