Green’s Padres begin rare matchup with Orioles
Baltimore’s a little late to the interleague party. The O’s results in the present, though, remain resoundingly impressive.
Buck Showalter’s team takes on its very first National League foe of the season, San Diego, at 7:10 p.m. ET. Oddsmakers at online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the road squad as a 1.5-run favorite. The Padres, on the other hand, enter as +165 underdogs.
About 16 hours ago, the class of the American League East found itself at Global Life Park for a makeup contest against Texas. Baltimore suffered a rare slip-up, 4-3, and then bolted back to Camden Yards. It’ll be up to Tyler Wilson to work deep into this one and come to the aid of a fairly fatigued lineup. In his most recent appearance, the righty blanked the vaunted Red Sox for eight innings.
On the other side, Luis Perdomo accepts the assignment for Andy Green. The Rule 5 selection is coming off his first MLB triumph as a starter, a six-inning gem vs. Miami. While San Diego hopes for a similar showing this evening, the O’s should be sufficiently buoyed by a return to the home yard. Go with the Orioles in a squeaker.
