Padres vs. Rockies Prediction
After placing Tyson Ross on the DL, James Shields will move up a day and throw in the series final between the Padres and Rockies today at 4:10PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rockies are -115 money line favorites over the visiting Padres, who have odds of -105 to win today’s game. As for the total, the number currently sits at 11 runs with Shields set to face Chad Bettis in the pitching matchup.
Bet Tonight’s Padres vs. Rockies Game
Shields took the loss against the Dodgers in his season debut but pitched okay in the process. He allowed three runs on six hits over six innings and struck out six while walking only one batter.

The Rockies will counter with Chad Bettis, who couldn’t make it through the sixth inning in Tuesday’s debut win over the Diamondbacks. He surrendered five runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings and allowed a pair of solo home runs in the game.
Even though Shields was bumped up to make this start due to Ross being placed on the DL, he’s more attractive from a betting standpoint than Bettis. If Bettis pitches today like he did in Arizona, then Shields will pick up his first victory of the season.
