Padres vs. Rockies Prediction
The Colorado Rockies will look to hand the San Diego Padres their fourth consecutive loss to start the 2016 MLB season when the NL West rivals clash at 4:10PM ET today.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rockies are -134 money line favorites over the Padres, who have odds of +124 to pull off the upset. As for the total for today’s game, the number currently sits at 10.5 runs.
Bet Today’s Padres vs. Rockies Game
San Diego will send rookie Colin Rea to the hill today in Denver. Rea made six starts during spring training, pitching a team-high 22 innings while posting a 5.73 ERA and a WHIP of 1.73 on 25 hits and 13 walks. Opponents batted .291 against him and while spring stats are often meaningless, it was nevertheless a rough exhibition season for Rea.
Colorado will counter with Jordan Lyles, who has plenty to prove in 2016. Like Rea, the right-hander also pitched poorly in spring training. In eight games and over 19 innings, he posted a 7.11 ERA while striking out 12 and also walking eight. He also allowed four home runs, the most on the Rockies.

Given how poorly Rea and Lyles pitched this spring and despite the Padres not scoring a run in their opening series versus the Dodgers, today should be a high-scoring affair at Coors Field.
