Padres vs. Giants Prediction
Will today’s matchup between the Padres and Giants be another low-scoring contest when the two teams meet at 3:45PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Giants are -180 to beat the Padres and pull off the sweep, while San Diego has odds of +160 to avoid losing three straight in San Francisco. With Andrew Cashner set to face Jeff Samardzija in the pitching matchup, the total sits at 7.5 runs.
Bet Tonight’s Padres vs. Giants Game
The under is a perfect 6-0 in San Diego’s last six road games when facing a right-handed starter and is now 6-1 in the team’s last seven road games after losing 1-0 to San Francisco on Tuesday night. The under is 13-5-2 in the Padres’ last 20 games versus a right-handed starter as well.
While the offense has plenty of firepower, it was the pitching of Johnny Cueto last night that helped the Giants knock off the Padres. Cueto threw a complete game shutout in the victory, getting a couple of key double plays in the middle and later innings to compete the shutout. The under is now 8-3-2 in the Giants’ last 13 games played on Wednesday and 7-3 in their last 10 games coming off a win.

OUR PREDICTION: Outside of his season-opener in which he allowed three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings of work, Samardzija has been excellent for the Giants. He’s reached the sixth inning in each of his last three starts and pitched well in his last outing, surrendering just one run on six hits over 7 2/3 innings. His strikeout rate (6.33) is down, but everything else looks good for the right-hander as he continues to benefit from San Francisco’s excellent defense (unlike when he was in Chicago last season with the White Sox). Cashner has also been okay over 21 innings and should keep the Giants somewhat in check this afternoon.
WEDNESDAY MLB PREDICTION: PADRES/GIANTS UNDER 7.5
