Lamet shines in win
Dinelson Lamet carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning Tuesday night in a 9-4 victory for San Diego at Seattle. Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Fernando Tatis Jr. ended the game 1-for-4 with a homer, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Joey Lucchesi gets the start today for the Padres as he enters with a 7-6 record, 4.23 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 111 strikeouts over 117 innings pitched.

Seattle did not register a hit until the seventh inning at home Tuesday night in a 9-4 loss to San Diego. Tim Lopes helped lead the offensive effort as he was 1-for-1 with his first MLB home run and two RBIs off the bench. Domingo Santana went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Wade LeBlanc took the loss as he gave up five earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk over five innings as the bulk reliever. MLB Betting Trends
San Diego
The Padres are 4-0 in their last four games versus the AL West. San Diego is 4-1 in its last five interleague road games.
Seattle
The Mariners are 0-5 in their last five games overall. Seattle is 2-10 in the last 12 Kikuchi starts.
Prediction:
I can’t trust Kikuchi here and the Mariners offense is really struggling. Lucchesi oftens seems a mistake or two away from putting it all together and perhaps this game against a subpar offense is where he can really take a step forward. The Padres offense looked good for a second game in a row and I’m expecting that to continue here. Go with the road favorites.
