Boston’s Price aims to get right vs. Seattle
For a 23-year-old, the Mariners’ Taijuan Walker has quite the impressive MLB resume. Throughout the course of his 53 career appearances, though, he’s never collided with the vaunted Red Sox.
That changes in today’s rubber match at Fenway Park. Online sports book Bovada.lv give the hosts odds of -200 to take the series. Seattle, meanwhile, enters as a +180 underdog. The over/under run total rests at nine.
Aside from a recent misfire against Tampa Bay, Walker’s (3-6, 3.69 ERA) in the midst of a nice little run. He twirled eight scoreless frames vs. the Indians on June 8, surrendering three hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. It marked the powerful righty’s second double-digit punchout performance of the campaign.
John Farrell’s afternoon option on the hill, David Price (7-4, 4.52), also knows a thing or two about fanning opposing batters. In his last 23 innings, the perennial All-Star has amassed 22 Ks. Price is still searching for his first victory since May 24, though, as the lefty’s inconsistent debut season in Beantown continues.

Boston’s offense got back to basics in Saturday’s 6-2 victory, netting contributions from all the usual suspects. Given Walker’s tendency to elevate the ball, expect more of the same in this matinee finale.
