Nathan Karns will face Luis Severino in the pitching matchup tonight. Karns surrendered seven hits and four earned runs in the Mariners’ loss to the A’s last Sunday while only lasting five innings in the season debut. He struck out six and only walked one, but the hits were a problem.

Meanwhile Severino wasn’t sharp in his debut either, allowing three runs on 10 hits over five frames in a loss to the Tigers. He wasn’t able to hit spots but he did strike out five and managed to walk no one in the start.
