Mariners win fourth straight
Seattle picked up a 7-4 victory Tuesday night at Tampa Bay to improve to 58-73 overall and 27-37 on the road. Kyle Seager paced the Mariners offense as he finished 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two walks, two runs scored and three RBIs. Tom Murphy was 1-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs. Tim Lopes was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Tommy Milone picked up the win as the bulk starter as he gave up four earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk over five innings. Matt Magill notched the save as he struck out one in a scoreless inning of work. Seattle has not announced its starting pitcher for today’s game.
Adames has three-hit night
Tampa Bay fell by a count of 7-4 Tuesday night at home versus Seattle to 73-54 overall and 33-31 at home. Willy Adames paced the Rays offensively as he finished the game 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Kevin Kiermaier went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Austin Meadows was 1-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Jalen Beeks took the loss as the bulk reliever as he gave up four runs (two earned) with four strikeouts and three walks over five innings. MLB Betting Trends
Seattle
The Mariners are 16-36 in their last 52 road games. Seattle is 4-0 in its last four games on astroturf.
Tampa Bay
The Rays are 14-6 in their last 20 games overall. Tampa Bay is 2-6 in its last eight Wednesday games.
Prediction:
Morton has been consistently good all season and settled down to pitch effectively after a rough start when he pitched in Seattle. Tampa Bay hasn’t been playing that well lately, but I highly doubt it gets swept at home here. The Rays will have the pitching advantage and should support Morton with enough runs to salvage a game.
